Gluttony – one of the 7 deadly sins, part 6

Gluttony (Latin: gula, derived from the Latin gluttire meaning “to gulp down or swallow”) means over-indulgence and over-consumption of food, drink, or wealth items, particularly as status symbols.

In Christianity, it is considered a sin if the excessive desire for food causes it to be withheld from the needy. Some Christian denominations consider gluttony one of the seven deadly sins.

Our reflections:

The way we see it, like everything gluttony has many different aspects, unconscious programs and shadows to it. Here in the western world many people are suffering from overweight and obesity. This in itself causes other symptoms and diseases such as cardiovascular diseases.

Obesity has reached epidemic proportions globally, with at least 2.8 million people dying each year as a result of being overweight or obese. Once associated with high-income countries, obesity is now also prevalent in low- and middle-income countries.

The polarity of gluttony is equally bad as people starve to death as well. It is a loose/loose situation, nobody wins or gains from this. Except for those who regulates and profit from this gluttony, overconsumption and global distribution….

“Approximately 9 million people die of world hunger each year according to world hunger statistics; more than the death toll for malaria, AIDS and tuberculosis combined in 2012.

The world produces enough food to feed everyone. Food availability per capita has increased from approximately 2220 kcal per person per day in the 1960s to 2790 kcals per person per day in 2006.

Poverty is the number one cause of world hunger. The World Bank estimates that 10.7 percent of the world’s population, or 767 million people, lived on less than $1.90 per day in 2013.”

How many have died from covid?

It is almost impossible to find a correct number of this since not even WHO seems to know ;)..

In our perspective Gluttony is one of the causes of the extreme polarities of the global imbalances seen today. Only 2095 of the world´s billionaires control the enormous amount of $8 trillion in 2020, according to Forbes.

Compare this to the 767 million people who live on less than $1.90 per day.

This is for us really f*cked up and makes it very clear this is NOT a question of overpopulation. This is about Greed, Gluttony and other deadly sins.

Quote from Holy F*ck

The quote below is from our book Holy F*ck and Sacred Water – The Secret Connections to Everything (chapter 34):

“We give our silent consent that tons of food are thrown away yet millions of people are starving. Some so-called leaders claim that there is not enough food for everyone and decide who will receive it and not. Same leaders say that we are overpopulated yet want us to have mandatory vaccinations to stay “healthy” and alive. Where is the logic in that?”
